Default What Is Used More?

What do most guilds/players use more? Vent or TS. Also, is there a major difference in these?

I use Vent. I tried TS and didn't like the interface or quality. It also seemed more resource intensive than vent.

IMO, I think Vent is used more (in PUGs), but it's fairly even. Personally, I like Vent better, it seems to lag less. My guild uses Vent

I tried both for my guild. Ventrilo first then Teamspeak. We host our own server and (me or another guildie on a separate pc). We found teamspeak to cause little less lag, and more ways to manipulate the connections speed / voice quality ...

TS for sure.

Less lag, a cleaner, more simple interface. Not to mention it doesn't have that bastard voice like it does on Vent.

Vent, no static, plus got to pay for a server but good quality.

We use Teamspeak as the MOHAA clan we were in had it and we were used to it , and lucky enough to be able to rent a 20 man server for ??8 a month . Have never tried vent , but from all the good comments I have seen here and eslewhere would be willing to give it a try.
I agree about the annoying lady in TS though

TS lags less. It uses a better compression. When it comes down to it I'd rather have less lag in a PvP environment, where TS really comes in handy, as opposed to ditching some echo or scratch to the sound quality. As long as it is intelligible it doesn't matter if it is crystal clear. They are both virtually identical programs though at the code level.

EDIt: put Vent meant to put TS that's what you get for coming in to work on 4 hours of sleep.

hmmm I actually prefer TS over vent becuose of it's simplicity, but Vent is really good too, but way to many sliders, and volume settings :/ that makes it kinda complicated, took too long for me to get it to work.

TS FTW. I hate how Vent can only handle 8 people a server, pathetic. TS you can like alot more, different channels customized with different quality/interface. If you people think TS is crappy quality you obviously either get crappy servers or don't go in good ones. My guild has a crisp clear server and it works just fine. It's easier than Vent anyways.

Plus the Collector's edition of GW leaves a 3 free month TS server, so Anet supports TS more anyways =p

the free version only supports 8, rented servers can support a lot more, and ventrilo servers aren't that expensive. i've been using vent for a long while now, and recently guested for some friends on TS, and TS sounds a lot worse, and lacks settings/player (i realy like the individual volume settings in vent). i chose vent, and in all my years of FPS and now GW, i've used both TS and vent (through a lot of versions) and vent is my voicecomm of choice

I've only used TS, took me about 1/2 hour to get the server set up on my system. The pain was having to go through some port forwarding procedure, but that may apply only to my isp and or modem. Everything has worked well so far though.

Teamspeak, it's more user friendly and the sound is for the most part, better.

I like TS alot more then Vent, cleaner audio. Also I can host upto 100 on my TS server, not sure about Vent's limits.
